Job summary

LabCorp is seeking a Hospital Phlebotomist to join our team at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, AL. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:30pm with rotating Saturdays.

You will perform venipuncture blood collections, collect specimens for various tests, and enter patient data accurately. Responsibilities include processing specimens, maintaining logs, and providing excellent patient service, with potential travel to other sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Enter patient information accurately and timely in data systems.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare and process all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed.
• Travel to additional sites when required.
