Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and ability to keyboard.

• Ability to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.

Responsibilities

• Verifies positive patient identification to ensure safety.
• Performs venipuncture and collects specimens per protocol.
• Ensures proper labeling and testing suitability of specimens.
• Coordinates with staff for specimen processing and results.
• Responds to calls and assists with inventory and supplies.
• Receives, sorts, and manages specimens from various customers.
• Orders and verifies test requests and documents QA information.
• Generates and distributes reports for management.
• Supports Billing and other business functions as needed.
• Instructs staff in phlebotomy and data entry.
• Demonstrates knowledge needed for age-appropriate care.
