Job summary

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, part of Mass General Brigham, is seeking a night-shift phlebotomist to join our team. The role involves drawing blood for tests, transfusions, donations, or research, and entering data into our systems.

A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered; 32 hours per week with every third weekend rotation. Requirements include a High School Diploma or Equivalent and at least 2 years of experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience in phlebotomy or blood collection preferred.
• Knowledge of specimen collection techniques and safety protocols.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and OSHA regulations; strong discretion with patient information.

Responsibilities

• Draw blood for tests, transfusions, donations, or research.
• Explain procedures to patients and assist in recovery of patients with adverse reactions.
• Dispose of contaminated sharps following laws and policies.
• Draw blood from veins by vacuum tube, syringe, or butterfly venipuncture methods.
• Enter patient and billing information into computer.
