Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• State licensure for Pharmacy Technician per relevant board.
• National certification (PTCB/NHA) preferred or must be obtained within 15 months if experienced.

Responsibilities

• Read physicians’ orders and prepare medications for dispensing.
• Prepare medications and delivery supplies for patient-care units.
• Maintain accurate records for controlled substances and inventory.
• Assist in sterile preparation of IV room medications and parenteral admixtures.
• Label products and ensure proper storage of medications.
• Read orders and prepare dosage forms for varied patient populations.
• Train and assist in technician duties under pharmacist supervision.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

State pharmacy technician licensure

PTCB or NHA certification

Associates degree or post-high school science education
