WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals seeks an Operations Pharmacy Technician I to support drug distribution under pharmacist supervision. You will prepare unit-dose medications, deliver meds, read orders, and assist with inventory while following written procedures.

Responsibilities include labeling, dispensing support, and communicating with patients or caregivers about timing and delivery. Night shifts are involved, with adherence to state guidelines and safety standards.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• State licensure as required by the state where services are provided.
• Preference for associates degree or pharmacy technician training program graduate.
• Six months of pharmacy technician experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare unit-dose medications, deliver medications, and order supplies.
• Read prescriptions and prepare medications for dispensing, including pediatric/geriatric forms.
• Understand pharmaceutical terms, abbreviations, and symbols used in dispensing.
• Communicate with patients or caregivers about medication, possession, and delivery.
• Accurately prepares/delivers controlled substances and maintains records.
• Takes inventory and replaces outdated medications; maintains supplies.
• Prepares non-parenteral medications for pediatric patients.
• Labels parenteral/Prescription products correctly.
• Performs dosage calculations and adheres to standards for speed and accuracy.
• Prepares and labels prepackaged medications and maintains related records.
• Ensures clean, orderly pharmacy service areas and storage.
• Follows state/federal restrictions on technician duties under pharmacist supervision.

Conocimientos

Pharmacy tech experience

Educación

High school diploma or Equivalent

Associates degree or equivalent science studies

Graduate of a pharmacy technician training program

Six months of pharmacy technician experience

MD state pharmacy tech license or student permit

OH state pharmacy technician license or trainee license

PA state pharmacy technician license or trainee license

WV state pharmacy technician license or trainee license
