Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided: MD Pharmacy Technician License or Technician Student Permit (Maryland), OH Certified or Registered Technician License or Trainee License, PA Technician License or Technician Trainee License, WV Pharmacy Technician License or Trainee License.

Responsibilities

• Reads physician orders and prepares medications for dispensing with appropriate dosage forms.
• Delivers medications to patient care units and orders and delivers drug supplies; maintains records for controlled substances.
• Interprets physician orders and replenishes patient medications; ensures accuracy based on weight and age where applicable.
• Prepares sterile parenteral products under pharmacist supervision, including IV admixtures and pediatric dilutions; maintains aseptic technique.
• Maintains inventory and supplies in pharmacy service areas; handles dispensing records and labeling.

Education

Associates degree OR post high school education OR graduate of a pharmacy technician training program
