Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Progressive Ventilator Support Unit (PVSU). The position is full-time night shift (12-hour shifts) from 7:00pm to 7:00am with three shifts per week and rotating weekends.

The PCT assists with daily living activities, vital signs, mobility, phlebotomy, EKGs, and specimen collection, working under RN direction to support patients on ventilators in a specialized unit.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required and one of: CNA, NCPCT, NCMA, EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic, Navy Hospital Corps School, or clinical program pathway.
• Current BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of health care experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide patient care, assist with activities of daily living, vital signs, mobility and ambulation.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, EKG, and specimen collection.
• Assist with Foley catheter insertion/removal and maintain patient safety under RN supervision.
