Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for Medicine Unit 4 - Progressive Ventilator Support Unit (PVSU). This full-time night-shift role runs 7:00pm to 7:00am with three 12-hour shifts and rotating weekends in Norfolk, VA.

The PCT will support daily living activities, take vital signs, assist with mobility, perform phlebotomy, POCT, EKGs, IV removal, and specimen collection under RN supervision.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.

Aufgaben

• Supports independent and dependent activities of daily living
• Takes vital signs
• Mobility and ambulation
• Phlebotomy
• Point of care testing
• EKG testing
• Peripheral IV removal
• Specimen collection
• Foley catheter insertion and removal
• Compiles patient safety practices under the direction of the professional RN nurse
• Observes patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and documents in a timely and accurate manner while reporting any change to the nurse or medical staff
