Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a patient care technician for the Ortho Stroke Unit on a part-time night shift in Mount Holly, NJ. You will support daily living activities and assist the healthcare team under RN/LPN supervision.

This role emphasizes safety, documentation, and patient-family communication to uphold quality care. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, completion of a PCT/CNA program or RN fundamentals, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completed a PCT course, fundamentals nursing course in RN program, CNA program, or has ~1 year direct patient care.
• BLS certification.
• Phlebotomy training/education required for ED positions.

Responsibilities

• Supports activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and mobility assistance.
• Performs standard precautions and safe patient practices, including isolation care.
• Assists with vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley catheter care as directed.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Identifies changes in patient status and communicates with RN/LPN.
• Reinforces patient and family education on care needs and safety.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.
