Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring for a Patient and Equipment Transport position at 11600 Advocate Christ Medical Center. This full-time role supports 32 hours per week with a 10pm start and holiday variance.

The transporter lifts and moves patients, verifies IDs, and documents trips, while maintaining patient confidentiality and equipment safety. No formal education is required, and Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 6 months unless exempt.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 6 months unless exempt by department leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lifts and transports patients using proper body mechanics and ensures patient comfort.
• Transports patients and other items to designated destinations.
• Reports changes in patient condition to clinical staff.
• Verifies patient identification and documents ride details.
• Tracks transport assignments using electronic software.
• Disinfects and maintains transport equipment.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
• May collect patient equipment from soiled utility rooms.
• May transport patient medications (excluding controlled substances).
