Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician Registry Surgical Care Center Night shift. This part‑time role covers 12‑hour nights (4 shifts per rotation, incl. two weekend shifts) in a 49-bed post‑surgical unit.

Under RN supervision, you’ll perform basic nursing tasks and assist with daily living activities while maintaining patient comfort and safety. The position emphasizes teamwork, critical thinking, and efficient unit operations.

Qualifications

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN.
• Assists with activities of daily living.
• Monitors vital signs and glucose measurements; records intake/output.

Responsibilities

• Assists with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Communicates changes to nursing staff.
• Prioritizes unit workflow with charge RN and plans care.
• Answers intercoms and call lights; relays information to staff.
