Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Tech for the Full Time Night shift (6pm–6:30am) with rotating weekends at the CDH Surgical Care Center (2 B/C). The role performs basic patient care under an RN, monitors vital signs, assists with daily living activities, and supports a high-satisfaction unit.

Training, code of ethics, and compliance are emphasized. Requirements include a High School Diploma, CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with clinicals, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CNA, CMA, EMT, or nursing student with one semester of clinical completed.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs and recording intake/output.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Prioritizes unit work under stress and maintains flexibility.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
