Job summary

Endeavor Health in Chicago is seeking a Patient Care Technician (Nursing Assistant) for night shifts at Swedish Hospital. The role is full-time (36 hrs/week) with rotating weekends and holidays, and may involve float to other inpatient units.

You will provide direct patient care under the Clinical Nurse Manager, document vital signs, assist with hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and safety, and support the RN with admissions and rounds.

Qualifications

• Must have CNA certification or completed an accredited nursing assistant training program, or equivalent experience.
• American Heart Association CPR certification is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to uphold confidentiality standards appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care on assigned unit under the direction of a Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Communicate respectfully with patients, families, visitors, and health care team members.
• Assist with patient hygiene and elimination needs as required.
• Prepare patient rooms and equipment for new admissions.
• Assist RN with admissions, vital signs, and initial assessments.
• Support nutritional needs and ambulation for patients.
• Document vital signs and glucose readings in the EMR.
• Follow patient safety and equipment handling guidelines.
