Swedish Hospital Chicago is seeking a Patient Care Technician – Nursing Assistant for night shift. You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse Manager, ensuring safety, privacy, and high-quality care in a fast-paced inpatient unit.

The role requires CNA certification (or nursing assistant training), CPR certification, strong communication, and ability to work independently while adhering to confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or completion of accredited nursing assistant training course
• CPR certification (American Heart Association)
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Ability to interact effectively with others and uphold confidentiality
• Effective written and verbal communication; self-directed

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients on assigned nursing unit under RN direction
• Communicates with patients, families, and health care team respectfully
• Assists with patient hygiene and elimination needs
• Sets up patient rooms with ECG leads and monitoring equipment
• Assists RN with admitting patients and taking initial vitals
• Assists with nutrition, ambulation, and ROM as needed
• Follows safety and infection control policies
• Documents vital signs and point-of-care glucose results in EMR
• Takes routine rounds and hands off to oncoming staff
