Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Part-Time Night Patient Care Technician (PCA) to provide compassionate bedside care. Duties include assisting with meals, mobility, bathing, and linen changes, while supporting the bedside RN with vital signs and safety monitoring.

The role emphasizes patient safety, adherence to unit policies, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting. BLS certification through AHA or completion of the IU Health PCA program is required.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or completion of the IU Health PCA education program.
• Ability to follow unit-specific care policies and safety protocols.
• Comfort providing bedside care tasks and assisting patients with daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide drinks and assist with meal ordering; encourage walking and mobility.
• Assist with bathing, bathing, and dressing; change linens and gowns as needed.
• Monitor patients and report vital signs or changes to the RN or charge nurse.
• Maintain patient safety using gait belts, alarms, and close supervision during movement.
• Support a compassionate, patient-centered experience in a fast-paced environment.
