Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Per Diem Patient Care Technician to support daily living activities for patients during night shifts. You will collaborate with RNs and LPNs to ensure safe, compassionate care and maintain high standards of ethics and accountability.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, completion of a PCT course (or CNA/RN program fundamentals), and BLS certification. Phlebotomy/EKG skills are a plus for ED positions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates required knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting, and mobility.
• Performs vital signs and point-of-care testing as directed.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Identifies and communicates changes in patient status to RN/LPN.
• Reinforces education for patient and family on care needs and safety issues.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and orientation of new hires.
