Job summary

Virtua Health in Marlton, NJ is seeking a part-time Patient Care Technician to assist with daily living activities and support the clinical team during night shifts. The position emphasizes patient safety, communication with nurses, and hands-on care.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a PCT program or equivalent experience, and a BLS certification. Phlebotomy/EKG skills are a plus for ED assignments, with a comprehensive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication skills.
• Completed a PCT course or RN fundamentals nursing course or CNA program, or have worked an equivalent of 1 year direct patient care.
• BLS certification.
• Phlebotomy training/education is required for the Emergency Department positions.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, hygiene, mobility and transport.
• Performs vital signs, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning and Foley catheter care as directed.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified; communicates changes in patient status to RN/LPN.
• Reinforces education of patient and family regarding care needs and safety issues.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and goals.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.
