Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Medicine unit. This full-time night shift (12-hour shifts) runs from 7:00pm to 7:00am with rotating weekends, serving a 24-bed medicine unit with diverse patient populations including cardiac, renal, vascular, and infectious conditions.

The PCT will provide patient care, assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, perform phlebotomy and EKG testing, and report changes to the RN.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required, with CNA or NCMA certification preferred.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• One year of health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor vitals, mobility, and ambulation.
• Collect specimens and perform EKG testing as directed.
• Support safety and report changes to RN.
