Job summary

UPMC Northwest is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician for the Med Surg unit. You will work night shifts with rotating weekends and holidays, supporting nurses and the care team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs and procedures, performing core nursing assistant tasks, and applying patient care skills while maintaining safety and effective communication across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of general healthcare experience or equivalent.
• Successful completion of UPMC PCT class and eRecord training.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care including assisting with procedures and activities of daily living.
• Monitor and report changes in patient status to RN; assist with basic therapies.
• Perform nursing core assistant tasks and additional duties as needed.
• Support safety, communication, and teamwork on the unit.
