Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required – will obtain during hospital orientation.
• Maintains compliance in RQI required.
• Interpersonal, clerical, numerical and manual dexterity skills; color vision and near visual acuity; proper lifting techniques and body mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Performs hourly rounding.
• Performs clerical functions including maintaining chart order, answering telephones, and entering written physician orders in Meditech.
• Coordinates patient flow and information with the charge nurse to maintain communication between departments.
• Assists with all aspects of patient care and non-patient care (unit cleanliness, supplies) as assigned by RN.
• Assists with patient/family teaching as appropriate.
• Maintains supplies and equipment; enters daily outpatient and observation room charges.
