Job summary

Memorial Health System in Marietta, OH is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff on the clinical unit. You will assist with patient care, process physician orders in Meditech, and help maintain chart accuracy and patient flow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required – will obtain during hospital orientation.
• Maintains compliance in RQI required.

Responsibilities

• Performs hourly rounding.
• Performs clerical functions including maintaining chart order, answering telephones, and entering of written physician’s orders in Meditech.
• Coordinates patient flow and flow of information with the charge nurse to maintain communication between departments.
• Assists with all aspects of patient care and non-patient care, including cleanliness and supplies, within scope of practice as assigned by RN.
• Assists with patient/family teaching as appropriate.
• Maintains open lines of communication between self and professional staff.
