Job summary

Endeavor Health seeks a dedicated Patient Care Technician - Nursing Assistant for Swedish Hospital in Chicago. You will assist with admissions, monitor vital signs, support hygiene and mobility, and document patient data in the EMR. Night shift 7p-7:30a, full-time 36 hours/week, with alternating weekends and holidays.

Required CNA training or equivalent experience, CPR certification, and strong communication and confidentiality skills. Willingness to float to other units as needed.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or completion of accredited nursing assistant training or minimum six months of patient care experience
• American Heart Association CPR Certification
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Ability to interact effectively with others
• Ability to uphold confidentiality standards appropriately
• Must communicate effectively (written and verbal), be organized and self directed

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients on assigned nursing unit under the direction of a Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Communicates effectively with patient, families, visitors, and health care team in a respectful manner.
• Assists with patient hygiene and meeting elimination needs as required.
• Sets up patient rooms for new admissions and attaches ECG cables and monitors.
• Assists RN with admitting patients and taking initial vital signs, including patients with Covid-19.
• Assists in providing for nutritional needs and ambulation of patients.
• Follows safety policies and safe patient handling guidelines.
• Documents vital signs and glucose results in the EMR accurately.
• Maintains unit stock and cleans equipment between patients.
• Performs rounds and reports changes to RN promptly.
