Job summary

Swedish Hospital in Chicago is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Nursing Assistant for the night shift. This full-time role (36 hours/week) requires working 7p–7a with every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Travel to other inpatient units may be needed to support patient care. Responsibilities include assisting with patient care under the direction of a Clinical Nurse Manager, communicating with patients and families, and maintaining strict safety and documentation standards in the EMR

Qualifications

• CNA certification or accredited nursing assistant training is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of patient care experience preferred or equivalent exposure.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients on assigned unit under supervision of a Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and health care team.
• Uses standard precautions and PPE as required.
• Assists with patient hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Records vital signs and ensures accurate documentation in EMR.
