Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the 3 West IMCU unit. This full-time night shift role supports nursing staff, provides patient care, and assists with admissions and discharges.

The position requires a high school diploma, BLS within 90 days, and CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent certification paths or RN/LPN/RT clinical exposure. Prior healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Must have one of: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, or CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, Navy Hospital Corps School, EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic, RN/LPN/RT/PT clinical experience, or current clinical student.
• One year of prior health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of a professional nurse.
• Support admissions and discharge processes.
• Observe patients and report changes to the nurse.
