Job summary
Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). This on-site, full-time night-shift role supports licensed nurses by providing delegated care, observing patients, and assisting with admissions and discharges.
Requirements include a High School Diploma or Equivalent and BLS within 90 days. CNA/NCMA/NCPCT/Navy Hospital Corps programs and related clinical experience are considered; current nursing students may apply.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- BLS Certification within 90 days of hire.
- Multiple licensure/certification options acceptable (CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, EMR/EMS/EMT/Paramedic, Navy Hospital Corps School).
- Current clinical student status with RN/LPN/RT/PT coursework considered.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care under the direct supervision of a professional nurse.
- Support admissions and discharge processes.
- Comply with patient safety practices and delegated nursing tasks.
- Observe patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report changes.
- Assist with coordinated care on the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU).
