Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician to work on the Post Op Recovery Unit on the night shift.

This unlicensed role supports nurses by providing direct patient care, assisting with admissions and discharges, and helping patients mobilize and eat. A high school diploma is required, with BLS within 90 days and CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• BLS Certification within 90 days of hire.
• BLS plus CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent acceptable.
• One year health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Support admissions and discharge processes.
• Observe patients and report changes to the nurse.
• Assist with mobility and meals on ERAS-focused post-op unit.
