Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Neuro Intermediate Care Unit. This is a full-time night shift (7PM-7AM), three 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends.

The PCT provides patient care, supports activities of daily living, vital signs, mobility, phlebotomy, EKG testing, IV removal, specimen collection, and Foley catheter care under RN supervision. A comprehensive benefits package is included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Certifications listed include CNA, NCMA, NCPCT or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor and document vital signs and patient status.
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection and EKG testing.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation; observe safety.
• Handle Foley catheter care and IV removal per policy.
• Report changes to the RN or medical staff promptly.
