Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the 3West Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) step-down, providing essential patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

This full-time night-shift role runs from 6pm to 6am. The unit handles complex medical and surgical cases, with telemetry in each room and a dedicated respiratory therapist on site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire is required.
• Healthcare experience preferred (1 year).

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under supervision of a professional nurse.
• Support admissions and discharge processes and ensure patient safety.
• Observe patients' condition and report changes promptly to the nurse.
