Job summary

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach seeks a Patient Care Technician for the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) 4B. This full‑time night shift (approximately 7pm–7am) role involves assisting licensed staff, providing patient care, and supporting admissions and discharges on a 24‑bed unit.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and BLS certification within 90 days of hire; CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or Navy Hospital Corps School credentials are relevant.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Unlicensed staff working under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Certifications listed in job requirements (CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent) are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under supervision and follow nursing directions.
• Support admissions and discharge processes.
• Observe patients’ conditions and report changes to the nurse.
• Adhere to patient safety practices on IMCU unit.
