Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collects, reports, and documents vital signs, height/weight, intake/output, pulse oximetry, and specimens.
• Obtains blood samples by venipuncture and performs 12 lead EKG and POCT as directed.
• Assists with patient activities and care per the plan of care; supports hygiene, feeding, mobility, safety, and comfort.
• Maintains privacy, infection control, and a clean environment; documents appropriately.
• Supports hospital services requests and collaborates with care teams.

Education

Completion of a recognized Nurse Assistant program

Completion of a Medical Assistant program

Completion of Medical Corpsman program

Completion of EMT program

Completion of UTMB Hospital Aide Training Program

Two years of experience in a direct patient care environment

Certified MA, PCT, or CNA at time of hire

Enrolled in a recognized School of Nursing with first semester completed
