Indiana University Health, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) to provide compassionate bedside care and assist with meals, mobility, baths, and linens on our inpatient units.

The PCA will support the bedside RN by obtaining vital signs and reporting changes. This role requires safety awareness, infection control, strong communication, and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment. Night shift with three 12-hour shifts per week.

Qualifikationen

• Direct patient care experience or exposure to clinical settings.
• Ability to obtain and document vital signs and report changes to RN.
• Knowledge of infection control practices and safe patient handling.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; compassionate bedside manner.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Current Basic Life Support certification (BLS) or attainment during PCA program.

Aufgaben

• Provide drinks, assist with meal ordering, and encourage walking.
• Assist with baths, grooming, and linen changes for patients.
• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to the bedside RN or charge nurse.
• Maintain patient safety using gait belts, bed/chair alarms, and within arm's reach.
• Support a patient-centered environment in a fast-paced hospital setting.
