Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a Part Time Night Shift Patient Care Technician for the Burn Trauma unit. The role supports daily living activities, monitors vital signs, and assists with phlebotomy, EKG, and specimen collection. Two 12-hour night shifts per week with rotating weekends.

The unit handles burn trauma and neurosurgical cases; CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent certification is required, with BLS within 90 days. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Care Partner / CNA / NCMA / NCPCT certification or equivalent.
• AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• One year healthcare experience preferred.
• Current clinical student in RN/LPN/RT/PT program with at least one completed semester.
• Recent PCT or Nursing Assistant experience within last three years.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with daily living activities.
• Measure vital signs and assist with mobility and ambulation.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing and EKG testing.
• Remove peripheral IVs and collect specimens as needed.
• Insert and remove Foley catheters under RN direction.
• Document observations accurately and report changes promptly.
