Job summary

Virtua is seeking an on-site Med Surg Tele 5W aide at Lourdes Health System, 1600 Haddon Ave. Night shift, 12 hours. You will assist patients with daily living activities, support the care plan and communicate with the healthcare team under RN/LPN supervision.

Essentials include a high school diploma or GED, completion of PCT/CNA or RN fundamentals course, and BLS. Phlebotomy/EKG training are required for ED positions; benefits are provided for full- and part-time staff.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of basic patient care skills and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, mobility).
• Perform vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, catheter care; may do phlebotomy and EKG if certified.
• Communicate patient status changes to RN/LPN and document appropriately.
• Reinforce patient and family education on care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and quality improvement efforts.
• Assist in orientation of new hires.
