Job summary

Jackson Health System is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the nursing team during night shifts in the Med Surg unit. Under RN supervision, you will assist with hygiene, safety, nutrition and comfort for a group of patients, while maintaining high standards of care and family communication.

You will perform basic procedures, monitor patient status, and help with mobility, vital signs and routine tasks, ensuring a clean and organized treatment area and adherence to unit policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant Certification program required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care under supervision of a registered nurse.
• Assist with hygiene, safety, nutrition and comfort needs; support patient/family education.
• Take and document vital signs; assist with mobility, feeding and daily activities.
• Prepare and clean exam and treatment areas; assist with equipment setup and transfers.
• Follow unit policies and care standards; maintain clean, stocked work areas.
