Job summary

Indiana University Health seeks a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCA) to support bedside care and daily activities, including helping with meals, mobility, hygiene, and linen changes. You will assist the RN with vital signs and monitor patient status to ensure swift response to changes.

Applicants should have a current BLS or complete IU Health PCA training, and demonstrate strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Requires current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA or completion of the IU Health PCA program.
• Knowledge of care appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients.
• Ability to read and perform basic math and to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside clinical assistance to the RN, including obtaining vital signs and reporting changes.
• Assist patients with meals, walking, baths, and changing linens and gowns.
• Support patient safety using gait belts and alarms and stay within arm's reach during movement.
