Job summary

UMass Memorial Medical Group in Massachusetts seeks a Patient Care Tech III to support licensed clinicians in the Emergency Room. Under the direction of a licensed clinician, you provide patient care, assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and help with procedures and equipment preparation.

The role requires teamwork and a patient‑focused approach. This non-exempt, night‑shift role offers a full-time schedule with a pay range of $18.76–$29.96 per hour, holidays and alternating

Responsibilities

• Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes seen in patients.
• Provides constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned by the Resource Nurse or designee.
• Assists patient with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, ambulating, meals and nourishment.
• Assists in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients by utilizing proper safety techniques and body mechanics.
• Maintains patient safety by performing patient safety checks and fall prevention strategies.
• Takes and records vital signs and measures patients' height and weight.
• Performs EKGs, Point of Care tests, and bladder scanning according to hospital standards.
• Phlebotomy in certain locations.
• Assists RN/LP with treatments and procedures by preparing patient and equipment.
• Observes and records intake/output and manages feeding solutions.
• Answers telephone and relays messages using intra-department systems.
• Replenishes patient and unit supplies.
