Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide compassionate bedside care, assist with daily activities, and support the nursing team. The role emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and timely communication of changes in patient condition.

Night shift schedule and 12-hour shifts require strong endurance and attention to detail in a fast-paced hospital setting. BLS certification and ability to work in Indiana are expected.

Qualifications

• Requires current BLS certification through the AHA or completion of the IU Health PCA education program.
• Requires knowledge of care appropriate to the age and developmental level of the patients served.
• Requires up to date knowledge of procedures and standards related to patient care activities.
• Requires proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist bedside RN with vital signs and monitoring.
• Provide drinks, meals, and assistance with daily activities.
• Ensure patient safety with gait belts, bed and chair alarms, and staying within arm's reach.
