Job summary

3M HEALTHCARE in Arlington Heights, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Acute Rehab Unit on nights to support patient needs and safety.

This per diem Level 1 role requires CNA training or EMT/paramedic coursework, CPR certification, and a high school diploma, with hours 7:00 pm–7:30 am and orientation prior to start.

The role involves assisting with personal care, monitoring vital signs, documenting in EMR, and collaborating with nurses to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• CPR certification from a recognized body is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited CNA course and CNA certification, EMT or paramedic training, or current enrollment in a nursing program with a clinical rotation is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care needs under RN/LPN supervision.
• Assist with exercising and ambulating patients; ensure safety and comfort.
• Obtain vital signs and input/output; report abnormalities to nurse.
• Perform procedures as directed by RN/LPN (EKGs, Foley care, etc.).
• Collect specimens and document care in the EMR.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, transfers, and patient transport as needed.
• Answer unit phones and direct calls accordingly.
