Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Inpatient Acute Rehab department. Part-time nights 7:00pm-7:30am with rotating weekends.

The role involves assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing basic nursing care under RN supervision. Required: High School diploma, Illinois CNA certification, preferred phlebotomy and EKG certification, BLS within 30 days, knowledge of medical terminology, and at least six months acute care

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA Illinois approved Certification required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• EKG certification preferred.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days and maintained.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months experience in acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
