Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Acute Rehab Unit (Days) in Arlington Heights, IL. Per Diem position with 48 hours every 6 weeks, including weekend time when required.

Orientation will occur during the first week, and shifts run 7:00pm–7:30am under RN/LPN supervision. The role involves assisting patients with personal care, mobility, and vital signs, with duties including EKGs and specimen collection as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of accredited CNA course and CNA certification exam, EMT or paramedics training, or current enrollment in accredited nursing program with at least one clinical rotation.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care (bathing, grooming, oral care, eating, hygiene).
• Assist with mobility and exercise under RN/LPN supervision; ensure patient safety.
• Take and report vital signs, input/output checks, accu-checks; document in EMR.
• Assist with procedures such as EKGs, Foley care, specimen collection, and basic procedures as directed.
• Support admitting, discharging, transferring, and transporting patients; answer unit phones and direct calls.
• Possibly perform duties of an Observation Assistant as needed.
