Job summary

Advocate Health's Advocate Sherman Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Nursing Float Pool. This full-time role involves night shifts with rotating weekends and holidays, 36 hours per week, and a pay range of $18.85–$28.30 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Ensures a secure and safe environment by monitoring safety hazards and patient observation.
• Follows policies for precautions (suicide, seizure, falls, elopement) and uses distraction activities.
• Accompanies assigned patient at all times and assists with transport.
• Provides general patient care as directed by the RN, including basic hygiene and positioning.
• Assists with meals, tray setup, nourishment, and documenting intake/output.
• Documents patient information on flowsheets and communicates changes to the RN.
• Responds to call lights and relays patient requests promptly.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and supports patient/family education.
• Demonstrates ability to respond to emergency situations.
