Job summary

Advocate Sherman Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join the Nursing Float Pool. This full-time role offers 36 hours per week, night shift with rotating weekends and holidays, and a pay range of $18.85–$28.30 per hour.

Responsibilities include providing basic patient care under the supervision of the registered nurse, assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining safety, responding to call lights promptly, and communicating effectively with patients, families, and health

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Good communication skills.
• Courteous and professional interpersonal skills.
• Highly compassionate and patient.
• Basic reading skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient safety and monitors for hazards.
• Never leaves assigned patient unattended and monitors during transport.
• Follows policies for precautions and emergency codes.
• Accompanies assigned patient at all times and assists with mobility.
• Provides general patient care under RN direction.
• Assists with activities of daily living and nutrition.
• Ensures proper tray setup and meal service.
• Documents patient information and communicates needs to the RN.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and communicates respectfully with patients and families.
• Contributes to the patient plan of care and supports patient/family education.
