Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Inc. seeks a Patient Care Associate (PCA) to join the night shift team at 30 Locust Street in Northampton. The role includes direct and non-direct patient care, clerical, supply and messenger duties, with potential 1:1 observation for patient safety.

The PCA reports to the Nurse Manager and requires BLS, ability to multitask under pressure, strong communication and teamwork, and the capacity to handle varied tasks in a fast-paced unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Ability to perform routine patient care activities under licensed nursing personnel
• Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant certification or nursing student with 6+ months clinical experience required
• 6 months to 1 year nursing assistant experience preferred
• 1 to 3 years secretarial experience preferred
• Health care experience preferred
• Ability to multi-task and handle stress effectively
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
• Typing skills and computer experience required
• Interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills required

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of direct and non-direct patient care duties
• Fulfill clerical, supply, and messenger responsibilities as needed
• May function as a patient care observer to monitor safety in 1:1 situations
