Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Patient Care Associate for Med/Surg (FT Nights, EOW) to support the care team and assist the RN with patient care activities. The role emphasizes ADLs, vital signs, specimen collection, EKGs, and maintaining a safe, clean environment within the unit.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma, completion of a medical assistant/patient care program, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate of completion of a medical assistant/patient care program/equivalent with skills in venipuncture and EKG.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate effectively with other members of the specialty service.
• Documentation of Medical Assistant/Patient Care Associate training.
• 1-9 months of healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to set priorities and stay flexible.
• English language communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with patient care activities including ADLs, feeding, bathing, and mobility.
• Record vital signs and document intake/output.
• Perform specimen collection and procedures like venipuncture and EKG.
• Provide a safe, clean environment and assist with transport and rounds.
• Assist with dietary functions and patient transports as needed.
• Maintain alignment with isolation and safety procedures.
