Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York, NY seeks a Patient Care Associate to support nursing teams in Med/Tele and Surgical units. You will assist RNs, perform routine procedures, and help maintain a clean, safe patient environment while documenting care and ensuring timely communication with the care team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (graduate or equivalent).
• Certificate of completion of a medical assistant/patient care assistant program/equivalent with skills in venipuncture and EKG.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate effectively with other members of the Specialty Service.
• Documentation of Medical Assistant/Patient Care Associate training
• Three to nine months of healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to set priorities, problem solve, use proper judgement in difficult situations and be flexible
• Sufficient oral and writing skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with patient care activities and daily living tasks.
• Record vital signs and document intake/output.
• Assist with toileting, feeding, and ambulation.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and transport patients as needed.
• Support dietary functions and manage bedside trays.
• Observe patients and report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with documentation, admissions/transfers/discharges, and equipment upkeep.
• Demonstrate professional conduct and respect for diverse patients and staff.
