Job summary

UC Health is seeking a Part-Time Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for the 4th floor Surgical Med Surg unit on the Night Shift at West Chester Hospital in West Chester, OH. The role supports a wide range of patient care responsibilities, including monitoring, assistance with activities of daily living, and patient safety.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 0–6 months of experience, with 1–2 years preferred. Training options may be provided to qualify for unit-specific care.

Qualifications

• Minimum required: High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum required: 0–6 months of experience.
• Preferred: 1–2 years equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Engages in population-appropriate communication.
• Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment.
• Maintains patient care in a culturally appropriate and age-specific manner.
• Performs routine patient care tasks as described in the unit duties.
• Responds to nurse call system and communicates patient observations to the RN promptly.
