Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet in Joliet, IL seeks a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily living activities and provide basic nursing care under the supervision of the RN in charge of the unit.

The role requires strong knowledge of medical terminology, relevant certifications (phlebotomy, EKG, BLS) preferred or in progress, and CNA certification per facility. Nights full-time shift 7p-7:30a, with competitive benefits and total rewards package.

Qualifications

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months experience in acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), State approved Certification required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
