Job summary

Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily living activities and basic nursing care during night shifts (7pm-7:30am) with rotating holidays and weekends. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to maintain a safe environment, assist with medication readiness, and contribute to a compassionate care team.

Required education includes a high school diploma, CNA certification in Illinois, with preferred phlebotomy

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CNA certification Illinois approved.
• Phlebotomy certification upon hire preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire preferred.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Provides basic nursing care to all patients.
• Assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the RN in charge.
