Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support daily living activities and basic nursing care under RN supervision. The role requires nursing support in a fast-paced hospital setting with nights, weekends and holiday rotations.

Responsibilities include assisting patients with ADLs, maintaining a safe environment, and collaborating with the care team to ensure quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Current phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• CNA certification, State approved Certification required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
