Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking a Nursing Aide for the Night shift to support patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role focuses on basic hygiene, vital signs, and patient comfort, with emphasis on patient-centered care.

Ideal candidates will have completed a nurse aide program or hold CNA/MACP training and a Heartsaver CPR card. The position requires teamwork, reliability, and strong communication with patients, families, and healthcare staff.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal nurse aide course or current CNA registry.
• Current Heartsaver CPR completion within 90 days of hire.
• Enrollment in an accredited school of nursing with basic nursing fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse, including hygiene care, unsterile treatments, vital signs and ROM.
• Monitors patient status and notifies nurses of changes in condition.
• Maintains records of vitals and care provided.
• Ensures sanitation, infection control and safety in the patient care area.
• Escorts patients and provides or arranges translation services when needed.
